What is “The Arts of Sacred Intimacy for Couples”?
This workshop is designed for couples with a desire for more in their relationships.
So many of us enter into intimate romantic and marriage relationships with open hearts and good will —it’s a beautiful thing! But most of us discover that deep intimacy and marriage ask more from us than we are prepared or know how to give. Our families and our communities rarely know how to guide through the often-dark places we find ourselves.
In this weekend retreat Sarah Bella Anderson and Rev. Hans Peter Meyer will teach you practices for intimacy and trust-building and rebuilding. Tools that they’ve seen help so many other couples “find the light” in their relationships. Tools that will rekindle the flames of trust, intimacy, and passion. Sarah and Hans will enhance your capacity for connection, for intimacy, and for communication between yourself and the one you love.

Who are your guides?!
Sarah Bella Anderson
Sarah Bella is a certified yoga teacher, birth doula, semi-retired aerialist, and professional dancer. She holds her Reiki Master, Tantra Coaching, and Family & Systemic Constellations Facilitator certificates. Sarah offers her Tantric wisdom, yogic knowledge and witchcraft wellness for people to connect with themselves, others, and their higher selves. She is currently teaching prenatal yoga, leading women back to their wild sexual power, and being a badasss mother and wife.
Sarah is completing a Certificate of Sexual Health from the University of Alberta this winter.
Rev. Hans Peter Meyer
A Certified Life-Cycle Celebrant™ (weddings, births, deaths, and all the rituals of conscious living), Rev. Hans is also a certified yoga teacher and coach for men and couples in the Yoga of Authentic Relationships. Hans is also a teacher and practitioner of Argentine tango since he visited Buenos Aires with a broken heart in 2007. He is currently offering weekly Yoga/Tango for Lovers classes on Vancouver Island and will be the yoga teacher at the annual TangoMayaFest this November.

A note on terminology
This event is open to any couple, however you identify.
We use the words “masculine” and “feminine” to refer to yogic notions of energetic polarity, not to be confused with “men” and “women.” All of us have a masculine/feminine polarity at play in our energetic bodies. Some of us are “masculine-identified.” Others “feminine-identified.” Some are more neutral than others. These are not static idenfitications. In fact, for most of us, there is a degree of fluidity. For the purposes of our work, knowing how to polarize into your body’s “preferred” energetic state is fundamental. Knowing how to polarize is one of the powerful ways of becoming trustworthy (if you are masculine-identified), becoming the nourishment your body and your relationship needs (if you are feminine-identified).

Play —whether it’s in dance, in a dinner date, or other forms— offers an opportunity to ignite the spark of intimacy and expression. The work Sarah and Hans do is very important to them. But they bring a playfulness to their seriousness, and trust that through the “work of play” of this retreat you will make a living thing happen between yourself and your chosen one.
Safety
Consent, but so much more than consent, is required for the individuals in a couple to know and experience each other. This event offers a brave and supportive environment for you to explore your relationships on a deeper level, fostering a stronger and more meaningful connection, a more profound experience of intimacy. Every exercise or practice is an invitation and you always have the choice of what your comfort is. Anything shared in the space, stays in the space.

To prepare:
Plan your trip! Please check Airbnb for listings in the Golden area. This is a popuar ski and mountain sports area and it is wise to book accommodations early. Hotels are also abundant in the area.
If you are coming from outside Golden, consider tacking on an extra day on either side to enjoy our Rockies location and the many winter recreational activities.
The Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is an advanced level ski resort!
Golden is a quick 3 hour drive from Calgary (international airport).
Winter tires are needed if you’re renting a car, and 4×4.
Homework
You will be asked to go for a dinner date on Saturday the 24th. I recommend making a reservation ahead of time for 5:30 or 6pm.
Eleven22 is my favourite option. Within walking distance of the studio is also The Wolf’s Den, The Island, Whitetooth Bistro or Reposados.
